ABOUT ELLA CALDER

Project Creator

I started working on Surviving Rough Waters in June of 2021 when I first started living in California. After recovering from an eating disorder in early 2020, I decided to bring awareness to disordered eating to competitive aquatic sports. As a competitive swimmer, I see that many aquatic clubs or organizations do not discuss the dangers of eating disorders. With Surviving Rough Waters, I plan to facilitate the discussion through many forms of media.

As of 2022, I am swimming for the Whittier College Swim Team as a distance free/fly specialist. I am from South-Central Pennsylvania, where I have my mother, a younger brother, and three cats. I currently live in Southern California, where I will be studying pre-med and biology.
